A worksplate, BUILT 1951, HORWICH. Locomotives built by BR at the former Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway works were Class 4 2-6-0 Nos 43112-35 and Class 5 4-6-0 Nos 44686/7, the last two built of this large class, both fitted with the experimental Caprotti valve gear. Cast iron, 10½"x6", the front repainted. (Postage Band: B)
