A nameplate, COLCHESTER CASTLE, from BR Class 86 No E3138 built by BR Doncaster in January 1966, originally named James Kennedy GC and renumbered 86242 in March 1974. When the loco was transferred to East Anglia, it was renamed ln October 2002 by Anglia Railways after the Norman Castle in Essex. In September 2004 the nameplates were transferred to Class 90 No 90015. Cast aluminium, 65½"x9¾", ex loco condition. All proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit The Railway Children charity.
