A works numberplate, No 62005, 1948, from a Peppercorn K1 Class 2-6-0 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 26609, and which entered traffic at Darlington on 10 June 1949. Its later sheds were Heaton, Ardsley, York, North Blyth, Tyne Dock and Holbeck from where it was withdrawn on 30 December 1967 and sold for private preservation to a consortium led by Lord Garnock on 30 May 1969. Following restoration, it has spent many years based on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway with its summers spent on the West Highland line operating the Fort William to Mallaig steam services.
