A worksplate, REBUILT 1900, St ROLLOX, from a Caledonian Railway 4-4-0, one of ten built by Dübs in 1882 and known as €˜Oban Bogies' from their use on that line. Numbered CR 179 to 188 and duplicated as 1179-1188 in 1913/1914. The class was rebuilt between 1898 and 1901, those dealt with in 1900 comprising 179, 181, 183, 184, 185 & 187. Of these six only 1179, 1183 and 1187 survived long into LMS days, therefore this plate is likely to be from one of these three. Engraved brass, 8¼"x5", ex loco condition with wax infill. (Collect from Banbury Depot/Posted by Woodford Halse Office)
