A worksplate, CHAPMAN & FURNEAUX, GATESHEAD-ON-TYNE, No 1161, 1898, SUCCESSORS TO BLACK HAWTHORN AND Co LIMITED, from a standard gauge 0-6-0T new to the Lambourn Valley Railway, Wiltshire and named EALHSWITH. Sold to the Cambrian Railway in June 1904 where it was numbered 26 and lost its name. Taken over by the GWR in 1923 and renumbered 820. Withdrawn March 1930 and sold in March 1931 to the Mells Colliery Company Ltd, Frome, Somerset. Sold in February 1945 to Geo. Cohen, Sons & Co Ltd and scrapped at their Wood Lane depot, West London. A rare main line example from a builder of predominantly industrial locomotives. Cast brass, 11¾"x7¾", the front repainted. (Collect from Banbury Depot/Posted by Woodford Halse Office)
