A GWR cabside numberplate, GWR 3028, from a 2-8-0 built to Robinson's Great Central Railway design by Nasmyth Wilson, Works No 1281, in 1918, for the Railway Operating Division of the Royal Engineers, ROD No 1725. Loaned new to the Great Central, it returned to the ROD in August 1921 and was stored at Royds Green until purchased in August 1925 by the GWR who numbered it 3024, later changed to 3028. Allocated to Croes Newydd by January 1948 and later Stourbridge and Oxley from where it was withdrawn on 12 March 1956, only to be reinstated before final withdrawal from Oxley on 9 August 1956. It was cut up at Swindon Works in the four weeks ending 3 November 1956. Cast brass, the front repainted, the beading stamped Engine Class 2-8-0, Boiler Class M.B. (Postage Band: N/A)
