A worksplate, WILLIAM BEARDMORE AND COMPANY LIMITED, No 406, DALMUIR WORKS GLASGOW, 1928, from a LMS Class 3F 0-6-0T No 16741, which was renumbered 7658 in 1934 and became BR 47658. Allocated to Stoke by January 1948 and briefly to Uttoxeter, it finished its days as a Crewe Works shunter. Withdrawn from Crewe Works in the week ending 8 October 1966, it was sold for scrap to George Cohen at Kettering. A scarce Beardmore Pearly Gates pattern plate. The 3F tanks built by Beardmore carried one worksplate on the back of the bunker. Cast brass, 8¼"x3½", ex loco condition, the rear lugs removed. (See also next Lot) (Postage Band: B)
