A presentation nameplate, INSTITUTION OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS 150th ANNIVERSARY 1847-1997. Previously named Highland Chieftain this name was given to Class 43 HST power car on 25 April 1997 at a ceremony at the NRM by David Astill Production Director of Virgin Trains. The nameplates were removed in February 2006. Cast aluminium, 23½"x5¾", on wooden mount. All proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit The Railway Children charity. (Postage Band: N/A)
