A South African Railways cabside numberplate, 2381, from a 3ft 6ins gauge Class GF Beyer Garratt 4-6-2+2-6-4 built by Hanomag, Works No 10523, in 1927. A versatile class, they saw service on many lines in South Africa over a long period and the last one was scrapped by 1979. Cast brass, 20 1/2x14 1/2, the front repainted. (See also next Lot).
