A (GWR) cabside numberplate, 7923, from a 6959 Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 built at Swindon in September 1950 and named SPEKE HALL after a National Trust property on the outskirts of Liverpool. Allocated new to Swindon and later Southall, Old Oak Common and Cardiff East Dock from where it was withdrawn in June 1965 and sold for scrap to Cohens, Morriston, Swansea. A worksplate, L&NER, 1878, DONCASTER, 1929, from a V1 Class 2-6-4T No 404 built in July 1938, renumbered 7662 in 1946, becoming BR 67662. Early in 1955, in common with most of the class, it was converted with greater boiler pressure and re-classified to V3 class. It spent most of its working life at Parkhead before finishing its days at Heaton and Gateshead from where it was withdrawn in January 1963 and cut up at Darlington Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front repainted. (Postage Band: C)

A locomotive nameplate, THE CLEVELAND, with its brass fox above, from a LNER D49 Hunt Class 4-4-0 No 269 built at Darlington in August 1932 and named after the foxhunt operating in the Saltburn and Stokesley areas. It was renumbered 2743 in 1946 and became BR 62743. Allocated to Hull Botanic Gardens by 1948, it moved north of the Border in January 1951 to Haymarket from where it was withdrawn in May 1960 and cut up at Darlington Works. A GWR brass cabside numberplate, 4997, from the 4900 Hall Class 4-6-0, ELTON HALL, built at Swindon in March 1931 and named when built after the Hall five miles north-east of Oundle in Northamptonshire. At Neyland by January 1948 and later Stafford Road and Oxley from where it was withdrawn on 30 October 1961 and cut up at Swindon Works the following month. Cast brass, the front repainted.
