A locomotive headboard, CAMBRIAN COAST EXPRESS, as carried on the through service from Paddington to Aberystwyth and Pwllheli. The title was introduced by the GWR in July 1927, withdrawn in September 1939 because of the War and reintroduced by BR in July 1951. This style of headboard, incorporating the Cambrian Railways coat-of-arms, was used from Summer 1958 up to and including the last titled run on 4 March 1967, always with steam power, and this has the distinction of being the last Western Region headboard used in service. Complete with bracket and wing nut fixings, overall span 52½"; the front has been repainted long ago.
