A wagon routing plate, CADBURYS BOURNVILLE AND CAMBRIDGE DEPOT, HALLS ROAD, LM&S RLY, IN CASE OF BREAKDOWN WIRE LIFFORD. The other side bears similar wording, the destination being LEEDS DEPOT, WHITEHALL ROAD STATION. Cast brass, 9"x9". During the second world war, part of the Bournville factory was used for the production of pilot's seats for fighter aircraft. It is thought that this is the master pattern for casting the plates fitted to vans transporting these supplies to the sites assembling the aircraft. (Postage Band: C)
