A cabside numberplate, SOUTHERN RAILWAY, 119, from a London & South Western Railway T9 Class 4-4-0 built at Nine Elms Works in August 1899, running number 119, becoming BR 30119. Withdrawn in December 1952 and scrapped at Ashford Works. In SR days it was often rostered for Royal or other important specials and, in keeping with its status, was repainted in 1935 at Eastleigh Works in a special green livery with other features including plaques of the Royal coat-of-arms attached to the leading splashers. Post-war it was repainted in May 1946 in a malachite green livery and again repainted by BR in May 1948. Cast brass, 13½"x7½", the front repainted. (Postage Band: C)
