A worksplate, ENGLISH ELECTRIC/VULCAN FOUNDRY, 2666/D427, 1959, from a BR Class 40 No D210 allocated new to Willesden in May 1959, named EMPRESS OF BRITAIN with its CANADIAN PACIFIC STEAMSHIPS appendage below by the shipping company's President at a ceremony at Euston station on 12 May 1960. It was the first named locomotive in its Class. Renumbered 40010 in February 1974 and withdrawn from Carlisle Kingmoor in July 1981, it was cut up at BREL Swindon in July 1983. Chromed cast brass, 10"x4½", the front repainted, flecks of green paint to the outer rim. (Postage Band: C)
