A worksplate VULCAN FOUNDRY 5259, DREWRY CAR Co 2178 of 1945. From a 150HP 0-4-0 diesel mechanical locomotive new to the War Department as 72223, later renumbered 832. It worked at a number of WD depots including Norton Fitzwarren, Bicester, West Moors Dorset and Stirling, Scotland. Renumbered as 224 in the 1968 series, its final allocation was to Donnington, Shropshire from where it was sold for scrap in December 1983 to Marple & Gillott Ltd, Sheffield. Cast brass, 7¾"x5", the front cleaned but unpainted. (Postage Band: C)
