A worksplate, JOHN FOWLER, 22921, 1940, from a standard gauge 150HP 0-4-0 diesel mechanical locomotive built in October 1940 and new to the Royal Ordnance Factory at Kirkby, Liverpool as their No 1. Later to Davy & United Engineering Co Ltd at Sheffield. In November 1967 to Thomas Hill (Rotherham) Ltd at Kilnhurst (probably taken in part exchange for a rebuilt Vanguard diesel locomotive delivered by Thomas Hill at that time). Thomas Hill sold it for scrap in May 1968 to Parkin Johnson & Co Ltd at Grimesthorpe. Cast brass, 11¾"x7¾", the front repainted. (Postage Band: B)
