A New Zealand cabside numberplate, A416, from a 3'6" gauge 4-6-2 New Zealand Govt. Rlys. class A, 4 cylinder compound, built by A & G Price of Thames no.19 of 1908. Converted to 2 cylinder simple in 1948, a South Island engine withdrawn October 1967. The cabsides produced by Price were had a different style of letters & numbers to all other NZ number plates. Cast brass, 16½"x10¼", the front repainted. (Postage Band: C)
