A locomotive nameplate, ALDERSEY HALL, from a GWR 4900 Hall Class 4-6-0 No 6930 built in November 1942 and named in May 1946 after the country house which stood near Handley, Tattenhall, Cheshire until demolished in 1958. It spent its early years at Worcester before moving to Stourbridge, Stafford Road and Tyseley with a final six months at Banbury from where it was withdrawn in November 1965 and cut up by local scrap merchant James Friswell at Banbury MPD the following February.
