A tenderplate, BR(W) 5-313, 5000 GALLONS, SWINDON, a GWR pattern plate from the tender coupled with a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 25309, in March 1944, WD No 70801, which became BR 90312. A much travelled engine, its Western Region sheds included St Philips Marsh, Banbury, Cardiff Canton and Southall before finishing its days at Gorton from where it was withdrawn in December 1963 and scrapped at Crewe Works. Cast iron, 8½"x6", the front repainted. (Postage Band: C)
