A smokebox numberplate, 48464, from a (LMS) Stanier type 8F 2-8-0 built at Swindon in 1945 to Railway Executive Committee order. It was loaned immediately to the GWR in January 1945 and allocated to Cardiff Canton, then transferred to the LMS in August 1947 as 8464. A long time Carlisle Kingmoor engine it moved late on to Stockport, Heaton Mersey and Buxton from where it was withdrawn in August 1967 and sold for scrap to Cashmores at Newport.
