A worksplate LONDON & NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, 69838, HAWTHORN LESLIE, 1925, from a LNER A5 Class 4-6-2T No 1768 built by Hawthorn Leslie, Works No 3624, in December 1925, renumbered 9838 in 1946, becoming BR 69838. Its BR sheds were Darlington and Stockton from where it was withdrawn in November 1958 and cut up at Darlington Works. Cast brass, 9"x5", cleaned but unpainted. (Postage Band: C)
