A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE Co, 25235, 1943, from a War Department Austerity 2-8-0 built by NBL to Ministry of Supply order, WD No 77364, in September 1943. Loaned new to the LNER, returned to the WD in February 1945, loaned again to the LNER in May 1947 and purchased by BR in December 1949 becoming 90259. A long time Colwick engine, it was withdrawn from there in October 1965 and sold for scrap to Drapers at Hull. Cast brass, 13¾"x5½", the front repainted. (Postage Band: B)
