A worksplate, FRIED KRUPP, LOCOMOTIVFABRIK, ESSEN GERMANY, 1952, No. 2989, from a South African Railways 3ft 6ins gauge Class S2 0-8-0 No. 3724, one of a class of 100 heavy shunting locos, all built by Krupp. Believed last used at Durban Greyville depot until 1976 and later stored and subsequently scrapped at Touws River. Cast brass, 10"x4", the front repainted. (Postage Band: B)
