A worksplate, LMS BUILT 1934 DERBY. Locos built in that year were Class 4 2-6-4T Nos (4)2424 and (4)2500-36, this plate being from a locomotive in these groups. Also built in 1934 were Jubilee Class 6P 4-6-0 Nos (4)5655-62 for the LMS and LMS/NCC 2-6-0 Nos 90-93 for the Irish company, although these locomotives had worksplates with the year cast in raised lettering and not engraved. Cast brass, 10½"x6", ex loco condition, a score mark above the word 'built'. (Postage Band: B)
