A smokebox numberplate, 42129, from a (LMS) Class 4 2--6-4T built at Derby in 1949. Allocated new to Hamilton where it spent most of its life, with spells at St Albans, Polmadie, Motherwell and finally Beattock where it was employed on banking duties on the famous incline and from where it was withdrawn in September 1965 and sold for scrap to Motherwell Machinery & Scrap Co at Wishaw. Ex loco condition. (Postage Band: D)
