A worksplate, HUDSWELL, CLARKE, 729, rebuilt 1928, from a standard gauge 0-4-0ST new to Swanwick Collieries Ltd, Ripley, Derbyshire, named PALMER. Taken back by Hudswell Clarke in 1925 and rebuilt 1928 prior to sale to Leeds Corporation, Kirkstall Power Station, Leeds, where it became No 1. Nationalised in April 1948, eventually becoming part of the Central Electricity Generating Board. Scrapped on site by George Cohen, Sons & Co. Ltd, in March 1967. Engraved brass, 13"x8¼", in ex loco condition. (Postage Band: C)
