A worksplate, VULCAN FOUNDRY, 5537, 1947, from a LNER B1 Class 4-6-0 No 1179 which became BR 61179. Allocated new to Gorton in June 1947 and later Darnall, Kings Cross, Doncaster and Immingham from where it was withdrawn in January 1965 and sold for scrap to A. Draper at Hull. Cast brass, 9"x5¼", lightly cleaned but unpainted. (Postage Band: C)
