A worksplate, AVELING & PORTER, 2909, 1891, from a 12 ton single cylinder steam roller manufactured in October 1891 and supplied new to Buckinghamshire County Council becoming their fleet No 3. Later registered BH7165, it spent all its working life in Buckinghamshire and was cut up in 1952. Engraved brass, 10"x7½", a very choice early pattern plate, the front lightly polished, the back stamped 1409 and 3549. (Postage Band: B)
