A builders plate, WM FOSTER & Co Ltd, THE WELLINGTON TRACTOR, LINCOLN, ENGLAND, which could be from almost any of the many steam traction engines constructed by Foster at their Lincoln works. It is believed to be most likely from a 5 ton Wellington class steam tractor which carried these plates on their motion covers from around 1907 onwards. Cast brass, 10"x5", in original condition.
