A locomotive nameplate, LADY FARINGDON, from a Robinson Great Central Railway Class 8E, LNER C5 Class, 4-4-2 Compound Atlantic No 364 built at Gorton in December 1906. Named by March 1907 after the wife of the GCR Chairman, first as Lady Henderson and duly renamed Lady Faringdon in 1917 when her husband became Lord Faringdon. It became LNER 5364 in December 1925 and was renumbered 2897 in November 1946. In common with the other members of this class of four engines, it spent its final years at Immingham from where it was withdrawn in December 1947 and cut up at Dukinfield in March 1948. The nameplates were incorporated in the splasher beading as with all Robinson's named engines but unusually this plate includes the whole length of beading whereas most have been reduced or removed altogether.
