A locomotive nameplate, BATH ABBEY, from the GWR 4073 Castle Class 4-6-0 No 5083 rebuilt in June 1937 from the 1922-built Star Class 4-6-0 No 4063 whose name it retained with the addition of the CASTLE CLASS appendage below the name. The rebuilt engine first entered service at Landore and finished its GWR days at Bristol Bath Road, later moving to Swindon and finally Worcester from where it was withdrawn in January 1959 and cut up at Swindon Works. The engine takes its name from the present abbey founded in 1499 in the City of Bath. Ex loco condition.
