A worksplate, LONDON NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY, No 1599, BUILT DONCASTER, 1924, from a LNER J50 Class 0-6-0T No 3240 built in June 1924 renumbered 8939 in 1946, becoming BR 68939. It spent most of its working life at Ardsley, moving in 1959 to Wakefield from where it was withdrawn in October 1962 and cut up at Doncaster Works. Fully engraved brass, 13½"x7½", the front lightly polished, the back clearly stamped 3240. (Postage Band: C)
