A BR(NE) totem sign, SALTBURN, (f/f), the terminus of the route from Darlington, also served by trains on the Whitby Coast route, a railway resort developed by the Pease family (of Stockton and Darlington fame). Although the station has moved to the site of the excursion platforms, the magnificent buildings, designed by the S&D architect William Peachey, remain and are still adorned with a large tangerine BR(NE) sign, RAILWAY STATION. (Postage Band: D)
