A smokebox numberplate, 43970, from a Midland Railway 3835 Class 0-6-0 built by Armstrong Whitworth, Works No 449, in 1921, MR/LMS No 3970. At Nottingham by January 1935 and later Toton, Hasland, Kirkby, Westhouses and Burton from where it was withdrawn on 11 February 1959 and despatched for scrap to Doncaster Works on 23 August 1960.
