An early royal train menu, printed on silk with tassel surround. Journey South of the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, London and North Western Railway, Saturday 2nd November 1867, Breakfast at 9 O'Clock at the Castle Station, Lancaster. The sumptuous menu includes such delicacies as Shrimp in Aspic, Westphalia Ham, Ox Tongue, Pheasant, Grouse, Partridge, Lobster, Sweetbread Cutlets, Broiled Kidneys, Preserved Ginger and Plums, Bride Cake.
