A worksplate, HAWTHORN LESLIE, 3694, 1928, from a LNER N2 Class 0-6-2T No 2665 which was renumbered 9571 in 1946, becoming BR 69571. A long time Kings Cross engine, if finished its days at New England from where it was withdrawn in June 1961 and cut up at Doncaster Works. Cast brass, 10"x6¼", the front repainted. (Postage Band: B)
