A worksplate, No 2078, DARLINGTON, 1949, from a (LNER) B1 Class 4-6-0 No 61356 which entered traffic in September 1949 at St Margarets where, apart from five months at nearby Dalry Road in 1951, it spent all its working life. Withdrawn in July 1964, it was cut up at Darlington Works with its tender continuing in use as a snowplough. Engraved brass, 12"x6½", the front part polished, part tarnished, as a result of another plate being on top for a long period. (Postage Band: C)
