Worksplate RUSTON & HORNSBY 183060 from a standard gauge 48HP chain-drive locomotive new in 1937 to J. C. Staton & Co Ltd, Tutbury, Staffordshire. Sold in January 1963 to Cafferata & Co Ltd, Plaster Manufacturers, Newark, Nottinghamshire. Sold later in 1963 to Fred Watkins Ltd, dealers of Milkwall, Gloucestershire which resold it circa 1965 to British Lely Ltd, Agricultural Engineers, Wootton Bassett, Wilts. Scrapped August 1984. Brass, 5¾"x3¼". Together with worksplate RUSTON & HORNSBY 218889/4VRON from a 4-cylinder diesel engine for general use, not used in a locomotive, brass, 4"x2½", and a small plate C & M 953. The initials stood for Care & Maintenance and fitted by a number of manufacturers to indicate they were responsible for the maintenance of the equipment, brass, 5½"x2". (3)
