A train headboard, BOURNEMOUTH BELLE, carried by the Pullman Car express from Waterloo to Bournemouth (West) until October 1965 after which it terminated at Bournemouth (Central) on closure of West. This style of headboard was carried from 1953 until its last titled run in July 1967. Cast aluminium, with brackets to the rear, the abbreviation MOD cast in the centre indicating 'modified', the term referring to rebuilt Bulleid Pacifics for which this style of headboard was designed. 51"x15", the rear brackets protruding a further 3" each side, the face cleaned and repainted.
