A worksplate, LNER, 2582, 1924, from a LNER A1 Class 4-6-2 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 23120, in December 1924 and named SIR HUGO after the racehorse which won the 1882 Derby. It was rebuilt and reclassified to A3 in December 1941 and renumbered 83 in 1946, becoming BR 60083. Allocated new to Heaton, its only other shed was Gateshead from where it was withdrawn in May 1964 and sold for scrap to Hughes Bolckows at Blyth. Cast brass, 9"x5", the front repainted.
