A smokebox numberplate, 42432, from a LMS Class 4 2-6-4T No 2432 built at Derby in 1936. It spent all its BR days at Carnforth and Barrow from where it was withdrawn in August 1965 and sold for scrap to Cashmores at Newport. Although not allocated to Tebay it was noted on occasions performing banking duties on Shap incline, probably due to Tebay's limited allocation of the usual 2-6-4 tanks not all being available.
