A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE Co, 16379, 1904, from a 3ft 6ins gauge Natal Government Railway 4-8-0 No 284 which became South African Railways Class 1 No 1254 when SAR was formed in 1910. All were withdrawn by 1975. Cast brass, 7¾" diameter, the front repainted. (Postage Band: B)
