A worksplate, NEILSON, GLASGOW, 1881, from a London Brighton & South Coast Railway Class D1 0-4-2T No 235 built by Neilson, Works No 2704, in October 1881 and named BROADWATER. It became SR 2235 and BR 32235 when it was allocated to Horsham and placed in store, before being used at Brighton Works for heating West Country class boilers during their construction. It was eventually withdrawn in May 1949. Engraved brass, 6½"x3¾", the front lightly polished, the back stamped 235. (Postage Band: B)
