A locomotive nameplate, THE PYTCHLEY, with its brass fox above, from a LNER D49 Hunt Class 4-4-0 No 298 built at Darlington and allocated new to York in September 1933, named when built after the foxhunt operating in the Lutterworth and Market Harborough areas. Renumbered 2750 in 1946, it became BR 62750. Its only other sheds were Gateshead, Bridlington and Hull Botanic Gardens from where it was withdrawn in November 1958 and scrapped. Cast brass, length 33¼", with right facing fox. We have been unable to free up the bolts which secure the fox.
