A smokebox numberplate, 2280, from a GWR 2251 Class 0-6-0 built at Swindon in September 1934. Allocated to Ebbw Junction from 1948 until 1958 when it moved to Gloucester and later Machynlleth where it worked on former Cambrian lines and finally Brecon from where it was withdrawn in September 1959 and sold for scrap to Hayes Metals at Gloucester. Original condition, the numbers polished but unpainted. (Postage Band: D)
