A smokebox numberplate, 48080, from an LMS Class 8F 2-8-0 No 8080 built by Vulcan Foundry, Works No 4757, in 1936. It was requisitioned by the War Department in December 1941, becoming WD No 604, and was shipped to Persia. On returning to the UK, it was loaned to the LMS in May 1942 and taken in to LMS stock in June 1943. A West Yorkshire based loco most of its BR life, it was withdrawn from Farnley Junction in November 1966 and sold for scrap to Drapers at Hull. Ex loco condition.
