A smokebox numberplate, 45228, from a LMS Class 5 4-6-0 No 5228 built by Armstrong Whitworth, Works No 1283, and allocated new to Southport on 31 July 1936. Its later sheds were Bank Hall, Rose Grove, Southport again, Aintree and Carlisle Kingmoor from where it was withdrawn in the week ending 18 March 1967 and sold for scrap to Campbells at Airdrie.
