A smokebox numberplate, 69540, from a GNR N2 Class 0-6-2T No 1761 built by the North British Locomotive Co, Works No 22617, in April 1921, becoming LNER 4761, renumbered 9540 in 1946 and BR 69540. A long time Kings Cross engine, it finished its days at Hitchin and New England from where it was withdrawn in July 1960 and cut up at Doncaster Works. Ex loco condition with very thick old paintwork. (Postage Band: D)
