A worksplate, NORTH BRITISH LOCOMOTIVE Co, 27461, 1955, from an East African Railways metre gauge Class 30 2-8-4 No 3015 named MERU OF TANGANYIKA after a Bantu ethnic group. The class all spent their entire working lives in Tanganyika/Tanzania. Cast brass, 13¾"x5½", ex loco condition, a repair to the top of the left point, hardly noticeable. (Postage Band: B)
