A BR ships barometer, by Smiths, Southampton, from T.S. Sarnia, the ship built by Samuel White in Cowes in 1960 for the Weymouth-Channel Islands service, Sarnia being the Latin name for Guernsey. The ship was withdrawn in 1977 and sold. The instrument has a 6½" brass bezel with wooden surround, overall diameter 8", the back marked Captain, Sarnia. The movement requires attention/cleaning.
